Live from Taipei
This is the joy and wonders of wireless internet - or at least the unsecure unprotected connections that allow for freeloaders like me to ride the wave of free internet access in a foreign land.
I am right now sitting beside the aircon vent *brrr* at the Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport in Taipei, Taiwan, happily blogging with free wifi access. Unfortunately I do not think it's provided free like that at San Diego train station but another free tap.
Anyway the plane ride was alright. Watched a lot of movies -
1) Phantom of the Opera
2) Hitch
3) Dear Frankie
4) Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda
Plus I also played a lot of tai di! hehe as you can probably tell by now, I got one of China Airline's new airplanes! Lucky me! Plus I got a window seat. Too bad the guy beside me was well... "interesting", borderline difficult at times.
Unfortunately, the food is still just as bad. But luckily, this time, using erkie's suggestion, I got cup noodles on board to survive the ride! woohoo!
Ok, I don't know what else to say now but I will be home soon. The weather, the scenery... the very GREENness of it all is very strange to me, even though this is Taiwan. The time is 5am but it's daylight, kinda like US. But the trees here are a deep shade of green which is rather rare in california. It is also very dense while in the last 6 months, I have been so used to the sparseness of it all. sigh.
Ecological and biogeographical distribution differences can be rather disconcerting. Especially for somebody like me.
My skin is still very dry due to the flight but honestly it feels nice to sit beside the aircon vent - reminds me of the chilly winds of Santa Barbara. sigh. I miss it already.
